The Steering Committee of the South Jersey Quaker Project is seeking a qualified self-employed individual or small business to perform certain occasional management services on its behalf to be specified under a contract with a term of one year.  The contractor will be appointed as the South Jersey Quaker Project’s organizer of services to Haddonfield Quarterly Meeting.  This position is classified as an independent contractor in fact and as defined by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development Division of Employer Accounts for purposes of unemployment insurance.  Fee paid for services will be fixed at $30 per hour to average no more than 15 hours per month, not to exceed 180 hours for the year.  Reasonable travel and other miscellaneous expenses will be eligible for reimbursement.  The contractor will be responsible for scheduling and reporting its hours.  Work may be completed remotely.  No physical office space or support services will be provided.  Participation in meetings in person or via zoom will be necessary on occasion.  Frequent use of email is anticipated.  Fluency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and other applications required.  Contractor will provide all necessary equipment to complete.  The Steering Committee of the South Jersey Quaker Project will review the status of the contract with the contractor periodically to assure continued compliance with the terms of the contract.             

 

The contractor will provide verbal and written progress reports to Haddonfield Quarterly Meeting about the South Jersey Quakers Project upon request, at least monthly.  Design and implement a common process for tracking visitors and new attenders.  Recruit and coach volunteers on behalf of the South Jersey Quakers Project to support various initiatives, such as public relations, research, writing, oral history interviews, photography, graphic arts, fundraising, and evaluation.  - Provide or arrange training in community outreach, digital platforms, and membership development as needed.  Promote increased awareness of activities by Quakers in other meetings and Quarters, and encourage intervisitation (via Zoom or in person).  Contribute content to the South Jersey Quaker Project website and newsletter.  Submit periodic reports to document, evaluate, and enhance the project.

 

The contract may be renewed by the Online South Jersey Quakers Project on an annual basis with 60 days advance notice.

 

Prior work history and references will be required and checked.  Educational requirements including minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or comparable prior experience.  Understanding and respect of Quaker processes and values, including equality, inclusion, sustainability and peace.  Experience in program planning, monitoring, and evaluation.  Proficiency in digital platforms (WordPress, Facebook, Instagram, etc.).  Experience in public relations and community outreach.  Experience in fundraising and donor relations.  Ability to work independently and without supervision.  Ability to work with and manage volunteers effectively.  Excellent writing and communication skills.  Strong time-management skills, including prioritizing and completing multiple tasks.  Excellent interpersonal relations and social media communication skills.  Access to a cell phone, computer, and reliable transportation.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  Availability to visit area Quaker Meetings on weekends on occasion.  Communicate with Quaker Meeting contacts throughout the week as necessary.

SEEKING QUALIFIED SELF-EMPLOYED INDIVIDUALS OR SMALL BUSINESSES INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR POSITIONS

The contractor will plan and organize four onsite gatherings held during the calendar year at different area Quaker Meetinghouses located in South Jersey.  Contractor will assist with networking and relationship building among Quaker Meetings in South Jersey. Manage donor relations and fundraising efforts.  Prepare, review and deliver quarterly work plans, reporting back on activities and hours.
