The Roots and Branches of Quaker Advocacy
Thursday, May 6, 2021 6:00pm - 8:30pm
How and why are advocacy and Quakerism intertwined?
What do experiences of early Friends have to offer Friends today who hold a concern about government decisions and actions?
Margery Post Abbott, Quaker writer and speaker, offers her thoughts in a Theological Perspective on Quaker Lobbying, published by FCNL and newly revised in 2020. Using this as a resource, we will explore the roots of Quaker advocacy, share our own experiences of inspired action, and reflect on how Spirit is leading us to witness today.
Facilitators: PYM Legislative Policy Collaborative and Friends Committee on National Legislation (FCNL)
