The next book in Newton Monthly Meeting's study of the lives of historic figures who influenced or were influenced by the Quaker tradition will be Valiant Friend: The Life of Lucretia Mott by Margaret Hope Bacon. Not only does this book recount the life of Lucretia Mott, it also gives a great deal of history about early Quakers in Philadelphia! We highly recommend it for those who want to understand more about this era and this remarkable leader in both the abolitionist and feminist movements. If you would like to join us in discussing the book, all are welcome!! Meeting for worship is from 10:30 -11:30 on Sunday, August 21st, followed by a potluck lunch and the discussion of Valiant Friend. Please join us for worship or lunch or both! Newton Monthly Meeting is located at 808 Cooper Street in Camden. Our website is: newtonmeetingcamden.org.
