Finding Quaker Stories in Historic Quilts

Finding Quaker Stories in Historic Quilts OctoberOct 03 2022 11:00 - 12:00 America/New_YorkZoom, PA

Join Linda Vizi at the Moorestown Meeting House or online via Zoom to learn about the stories behind an inscribed quilt collection currently on display at the Historical Society of Moorestown. Each inscription serves as a portal back into the 1840s, including quilts signed by local abolitionists, who established an integrated farming community that did not rely upon the labor of enslaved peoples. Vizi's extraordinary background as a former investigative FBI agent, Moorestown Friends School (MFS) faculty member, and her personal passion for quilting bring the history behind this unique collection to life.
Following the presentation, participants are welcome to accompany Linda on a short walk to the Smith Cadbury Mansion on High Street (Headquarters for The Historical Society of Moorestown) to view the quilt collection.
