Mount Holly Friends Meetingis hosting anAlternatives to Violence (AVP) weekend TrainingJune 9, 10, & 11 : June 9 from 5 to 9 pm; June 10 and June 11 workshops are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
The AVP approach is one of personal transformationthat can lead to social transformation. It is deeply invested in the principles of human rights and personal responsibility. In a society based on controlling others, AVP offers itself as a way to control oneself. It is not de-escalation training, though once we learn to change our own behavior, we create space for others around us to change
