What is Sessions?

Annual Sessions is one of the oldest Quaker traditions! Today, all over the world, yearly meetings gather once a year to bring together members and attenders from their local meetings. We call them "Sessions" because meeting for worship with attention to the business of the Yearly Meeting is central to these times together. During Sessions we ask: What is God's big idea for PYM Friends?
But there's so much more! The days are an opportunity to see old Friends and welcome new Friends. It's a time for learning -- from keynote speakers, at the Quaker Witness Fair, and in conversations under tents and over meals. For children and youth, it's a time to meet other Quakers their age and have fun together! For all ages, it is a time of spiritual renewal, community connection, and intergenerational worship and fellowship.

Attend Onsite or Online

Onsite -- We are joyfully returning to The College of New Jersey, just outside of Trenton. We have missed hugging in person, laughing together, and those indefinable moments of connection that happen between events. Stay on campus in the dorms, or come as a commuter.
Online -- Our three years of being online-only have shown us the power of being together in those spaces, joining from wherever we are. This year, our Annual Sessions will begin with an online-only program so that we may center the experience of virtual community. During the weekend, we will continue with a hybrid model.

Youth Programs

Friday to Sunday at The College of New Jersey. Bring the whole family! Programs for young people entering K-12 in Fall 2023, and child care for the littlest Friends, are available onsite so that families with children and youth can attend together. Our dorm spaces become a "Family Neighborhood" for parents, caregivers, and younger Friends to support each other in community. PYM Youth Programs staff will facilitate structured programs for the Children K-5, Middle School, and High School groups, and there will also be time to play and rest.
Come worship together, contribute to the business of the Yearly Meeting, play and connect with Friends!
