Prayerful calls for witness for Justice

Friends General Conference has sent out a request for prayer. 10a.m. Thursday tune your prayers to SCOTUS (the US Supreme Court)
This week, the legal team that represents FGC in matters concerning Homeland Security will be appearing before the Supreme Court—this time on a different, but equally vital, case. On Thursday, they will argue that the Trump administration’s attempt to limit birthright citizenship is unconstitutional.
The legal team has asked for prayers to strengthen and support their work.
As Friends, we understand that service takes many forms. Some of us are called to direct activism or legal advocacy. Others are led to agitate, speak truth to power, or organize communities for sustained change. Many are called to hold the movement for Justice, Peace, and Mutual Understanding in prayer—upholding those on the front who represent fairness and humane change with spiritual care, renewal, and clarity.
In this spirit, we invite South Jersey Friends—across Burlington, Haddonfield, and Salem Quarters—to unite in a shared witness for fairness, dignity, and compassionate governance. Now is a time to amplify our testimonies of equality, integrity, and community—not just in private but through public attention and prayerful accompaniment.
We ask that you consider joining in prayer for the legal team this week, and for all impacted by unjust policies and border violence. Let us be present in this moment of reckoning, holding our country to the promises it has long failed to keep—and the ones it still might live into.
