The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has collapsed, and Israel has resumed its military operations in Gaza. In the past month, Israel’s bombings have caused significant civilian casualties, with hundreds of innocent lives lost or injured. Additionally, Israel has blocked all humanitarian aid from entering Gaza, worsening the crisis.
The situation is exacerbated by the continued shipment of U.S.-made offensive weapons, which are fueling further destruction. The United States must push for an end to this violence and take steps to prevent the continued loss of innocent lives in Gaza.
Take Action Now:
Senator Bernie Sanders (VT) has introduced resolutions in Congress to block shipment of offensive weapons, including 2000-pound bombs and Joint Direct Attack Munitions, to Israel. These weapons are contributing to ongoing human destruction. It is vital that Congress pass these resolutions. To work towards Peacebuilding we must act on de-escalating the conflict, ultimately leading to a humanistic enterprise and permanent Gaza ceasefire.
Humanitarian organizations are warning that ALL supplies are being depleted rapidly. There is a real fear that deaths from malnutrition and starvation will rise again as this war continues. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has already resulted in the deaths of at least 50,000 Palestinians, with hundreds of thousands more at risk of starvation.
Now is the time to act.
We urge you to contact your senators today and ask them to support these resolutions, block the shipment of new offensive weapons to Israel, and work towards an immediate ceasefire.
The situation in Gaza is one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world today, and we cannot afford to wait any longer.
